Ask one question first: is the role listed on our own careers page? Every genuine Construct Digital vacancy appears at constructdigital.com/careers. If the role you were offered is not on that page, we are not hiring for it, and the person who contacted you does not work for us.
If you have already replied, you are not in trouble and you have not done anything wrong. Stop replying, keep the messages as evidence, and read the reporting steps at the bottom of this page.
How to check that a message is really from us
Our website address and our email addresses are deliberately different, and scammers exploit that gap. Both of the following are genuine:
- Our website is constructdigital.com
- Every staff email address ends in @construct.sg
So an email from someone@construct.sg is normal and expected, even though our site is a .com address. What is never genuine is a free email account. We do not recruit from
Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or any similar service, and a display name is trivial to fake. Read the actual address, not the name shown above it.
Be equally careful with addresses and domains that are nearly right. A single added or missing letter is the most common trick we have seen.
What we will never do
- Ask you to pay anything to apply, to be interviewed, to be trained, or to be onboarded.
- Ask for your bank details, card details, or a crypto wallet at any stage of recruitment.
- Ask for your NRIC, passport, or other identity documents before a written offer has been made and accepted.
- Ask you to complete paid "tasks", "reviews", or "ratings" as part of an application.
- Interview you only over WhatsApp or Telegram. A real process includes a call or a meeting with a named person you can verify.
- Send you an offer for a role you never applied for.
If a message asks for any of the above, it is a scam, whatever name is attached to it.
Reported impersonation attempts
We publish these so anyone searching for a name or number can find the truth quickly. The names below were used by the people running the scams. We have no reason to think they are the real names of anyone involved, and they may belong to innocent people whose identities were also stolen.
A fake recruiter offered a Business Analyst role, claiming to hire for "Construct Digital International Pte Ltd" - a company that does not exist. The approach came by email, then pushed the candidate to WhatsApp.

What gave it away
- The email came from a Gmail address, not @construct.sg.
- The company was named "Construct Digital International Pte Ltd". Our registered name is Construct Pte Ltd.
- The salary offered was far above the market rate for the role.
- The sender's own sign-off misspelled the company as "CONSTURCT DIGITAL".
- The subject line named a different company entirely.
A fake recruiter offered a "Brand Evaluation Operator" role in our name. The approach used WhatsApp, a lookalike sign-up website and a referral code - the standard pattern of a task scam.

What gave it away
- The role does not exist at Construct Digital.
- Contact moved to WhatsApp immediately.
- The candidate was sent to a sign-up site that was not constructdigital.com.
- A referral code was used to recruit others - a hallmark of a task scam.
A scammer impersonated a real consulting firm and sent Construct Digital a fake request for proposal. This is the same fraud running in the other direction: our team was the target, not the public.

What gave it away
- The domain added one letter to the real company's domain.
- The project named in the brief did not exist.
- Our team verified with the real company directly.
This list covers what has been reported to us. It is not a complete record of every attempt, and the people behind these scams change their contact details often. Treat an unfamiliar number or address as suspicious even when it does not appear above.
How to report an impersonation attempt
Please tell us. Each report helps us warn other people and gives the authorities more to work with.
- Take screenshots of the messages, including the sender's email address, phone number, and any links or QR codes.
- Email them to hr@construct.sg, the mailbox our recruitment team reads. You do not need to write a long explanation.
- Report it to the Singapore Police Force at police.gov.sg/i-witness. The current anti-scam helpline number is listed on that page.
- Check suspicious numbers and links with ScamShield, and report the sender inside WhatsApp, Telegram, or your email provider so the account can be taken down.
If you have already sent money or shared your bank details, contact your bank immediately and then report to the police. Acting in the first few hours makes a real difference.
A note for businesses
The same fraud runs in the opposite direction. We have received a fake request for proposal from a scammer impersonating a real consulting firm, using a domain one letter away from the genuine one. If you receive a brief, an invoice, or a payment instruction that claims to come from us and something feels wrong, call us on +65 6438 4886 before you act on it. We would far rather take the call than see anyone lose money.
