Board risk, distilled into 15 minutes the directors actually watch
The challenge
SGX's Risk Management unit works at central-counterparty scale: more than 6,000 scenarios tested per clearing member, several times a day, stress-tested against 25 years of shocks from the 2008 crisis to Covid-19. None of that was visible to the people who govern it.
SGX's Board carries risk-governance responsibility, but an earlier attempt to brief directors on the material had left them unsure exactly what they were signing off. The unit needed a way to bring a largely non-technical Board up to speed quickly, and to do it again for every new director and every quarterly meeting.
Complex risk, made watchable
We started with the Chief Risk Officer and a half-day immersion workshop with the Risk Management and Marketing teams, mapping the CCP's core processes, the Board's existing knowledge, and the gaps between them.
From there a three-person Construct team, creative, content and accounts, scripted and produced a series of three explainer videos, five minutes each, covering the CCP's role and resilience, margining, and clearing funds. We filmed in SGX's own studio and distilled years of scenario-tested risk data into something a busy Board would actually watch.
The payoff
The result is a board-induction library: 15 minutes of video that turns a dense technical briefing into something directors watch on demand ahead of each quarterly meeting, and that SGX reuses for every new board member who joins.
